Event: Red Cross Blood Drive at DCC
Date: Monday, December 30th
Time: 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm
As the year comes to a close, we have the opportunity to give a gift that can make a lasting impact—the gift of life! We’re hosting a Red Cross Blood Drive here at DCC, and your blood donation could be the critical lifeline someone needs.
Why Donate?
Every two seconds, someone in the United States needs blood, and blood donations are especially needed during the holiday season. A single donation has the power to save up to three lives, making a real difference to patients in hospitals and emergency situations. Whether it’s for accident victims, those undergoing surgery, or people with chronic illnesses, your donation can bring hope when it’s needed most.
Who Can Donate?
Anyone aged 16 and older is welcome to participate. Donors 16 years of age will need parental consent, while those 17 and older can donate independently. Donors should be in good health and meet standard eligibility requirements.
How to Sign Up
To make the process as smooth as possible, please sign up in advance:
- Online: Visit redcross.org/give-blood to schedule your appointment.
- Contact: You can also reach out directly to Brenda Martinez for assistance with registration.
Important Details for Donors
- Bring a Photo ID: All donors need to bring identification to check-in.
- Stay Hydrated & Eat Well: Drink plenty of water and have a healthy meal before your appointment.
- Set Aside About an Hour: While the donation itself only takes about 10 minutes, please plan for a little extra time for registration and a brief recovery period with complimentary snacks and beverages afterward.
Invite friends, family, and colleagues to join you in making a difference this holiday season. Your simple act of kindness could be the greatest gift someone receives this year. Let’s come together to help save lives!
