Get To Know Us!

We’re so excited you’ve decided to take some time to get to know us here at Duplain! Duplain Church of Christ is located in the country between the towns of St. Johns, Ovid, and Elsie. We are a family-friendly environment and welcome everyone to come as they are to join us for one of our services.

What can you expect if you’re new?

We know most people want their visit to be low-key, so we won’t be asking you to stand up or raise your hand to let people know you’re visiting. When you arrive, you’ll be greeted by one of our First Impressions volunteers and handed a bulletin if you want one. Please take a moment and fill out the connection card inside. This helps us know you were with us!

If you have children (2 years through 5th grade) you’re welcome to check them into Duplain Kidz, our secure Children’s Ministry areas. Preschool-aged children will be checked in right from the beginning of service, but school-aged children will enjoy the song portion of our service with you before being invited back to our Duplain Kidz programming.  You’ll receive a “claim check” for your child so only you can pick them up when the service is over. Or, if you prefer, you can keep your children with you until you’re comfortable with them meeting our background-checked, trained Children’s Ministry volunteers.

For children under 2 years old, we have a nursery equipped with rocking chairs, cribs, a changing table, a private nursing area, and of course toys. The service is streamed into this room so you can still take part in the worship service while tending to your baby’s needs. Or, if you prefer, babies are always welcome in the worship service!

During the time we’re together we will sing some songs and read some passages from God’s word, share together in communion – a “meal” meant to celebrate Jesus’ victory over sin and death, and listen to about 30 minutes of teaching from God’s word.

You’re welcome to hang out after the service is over, and when you’re ready to leave, we will give you a gift that is our way of saying, “Thanks for being here!”

 Children’s Ministries

Duplain Kidz is the Children’s Ministry (Birth-5th grade) here at Duplain. Here at Duplain, we strive to be a place where the whole family can grow together in their relationship with God. When you arrive follow the signs to the Duplain Kidz Check-ins counter. We’ll gather some information and your child will be checked into the appropriate classroom and you’ll get a claim tag so only you can check them out. Once in the classroom, your kids will be meet by awesome, trained and background checked, Duplain Kidz volunteers. Our volunteers love kids and can’t wait to help your kids grow in their walk with Jesus. Still, have questions? Student Ministries

Proclaim is the Student Ministry (6th – 12th grade) here at Duplain. Proclaim is all about helping students connect with God and with a community where they belong, are known, and loved. At Proclaim students are encouraged by loving, background-checked,  and trained youth sponsors who will go out their way to make sure your teens know two things: Jesus loves them and they have a purpose.  Click the button below to learn more about our student programming or reach out to our youth minister, Matt Barnum at mabarnum@glcc.edu
