What We Believe
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance; that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures.
2 Timothy 3:16
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God – “a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.”
We believe that every person has been created in the image of God, but that “all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.”
Romans 3:23
For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
We believe that forgiveness of sins and promise of eternal life is available to those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.
We believe that those who accept Jesus Christ must repent of their sin, confess their faith in Him and be baptized by immersion into Him for the forgiveness of sins and for receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38
Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit”
Ephesians 4:15
Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of him who is the head, that is, Christ.
We believe that the Church is the body of Christ on Earth and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.
We believe that the weekly observance and participation of the Lord’s Supper (communion) is a priority of worship to remember Christ and His sacrifice.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26
For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.
2 Thessalonians 5:2-5
…you know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people are saying “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman, they will not escape. But you, brothers and sisters, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are children of the light and children of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness.
